The Rutland Hotel, Operations Manager
£40,000 Salary PLUS Tronc, 5 out of 7 days
The Rutland Hotel is seeking a dynamic and experienced Restaurants and bars Operations Manager to oversee and support the service delivery of our premium dining and bar venues: Kyloe, our gourmet steak restaurant; Huxley, our American soul food eatery and cocktail bar; and Heads and Tales, our speakeasy late-night gin and cocktail bar. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of service and operational excellence, dedicating 60% of their time to hands-on service support and 40% to strategic planning and team development.
Key Responsibilities:
Service Support (60%):
- Actively work in Kyloe, Huxley, and Heads and Tales to support the leadership in daily operations, ensuring a consistent and exceptional guest experience.
- Cover Head of Department holidays when necessary in any of our F&B led venues.
- Head up the training standards and delivery across all venues by direct management of In Store Trainers.
- Provide leadership and support to front-of-house teams during service hours.
- Monitor and manage guest satisfaction, promptly addressing and resolving any issues.
- Uphold and enforce health, safety, and hygiene standards in all venues.
- Foster a positive and motivated work environment through direct interaction with team members.
Strategic Planning (40%):
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the food and beverage offering across all venues.
- Collaborate with the Senior Operations Manager to set and achieve operational goals.
- Design and execute targeted training programs to build stronger teams and improve service quality.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and identify areas for development.
- Analyse financial performance, managing budgets and controlling productivity costs while maximizing revenue.
- Be responsible for Quarterly Sales plans and deliver agreed initiatives across venues
- Stay updated with industry trends to keep the venues competitive and innovative.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a multi-venue or single large scale operation.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Excellent organizational and strategic planning abilities.
- Knowledge of food safety and health regulations.
- Proficiency in financial management and budgeting.
