Purpose of the Role
We are looking for an energised Trainer to work within the People Team at Signature Group, reporting to the Learning and Development Manager.
The primary purpose of this newly created role will be to maximise capability, competence and effectiveness of the Signature Group’s most important
resource – our people.
We are a hospitality business with 20 units across Scotland. Without fun, engaging, talented people, we will fail in our mission to ‘serve happiness’!
In this role you will work closely with the Learning and development Manager to provide support to all venues through designing and delivering effective training initiatives, as well as supporting our people to understand our standards, systems and processes. The overall goal is to ensure the Group delivers on its mission.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and deliver effective training initiatives to support both front of house and back of house teams.
- Work with our people to help maximise their potential and make positive progress.
- Assess training needs and customise content to deliver targeted, bespoke training initiatives.
- Seek out opportunities and make recommendations for improvements to training content and material.
- Ensure all training records and reporting are kept up to date.
- Support Venues and the Operations team with encouraging high performance aligned to company values.
- Promote employee wellbeing to support company values.
- Support the Learning and Development Strategy and projects as directed by the Learning and Development Manager.
- Promoting the Signature Values throughout all training initiatives.
- Bring an innovative and enthusiastic mindset, daily!
The Individual
The ideal candidate will have a training background with strong industry experience in the food and drink sector, ideally with specific experience of working as both back and front of house. They will be enthusiastic and passionate about developing others and watching them grow. They will have the skills to inspire, develop and motivate our teams and future leaders.

The Location and Ways of Working
The role is based on Edinburgh but will include regular travel to venues across Edinburgh, Glasgow, St Andrews, Aberdeen and Stirling.
